Dr. Juan Carlos LINARES

Juan Carlos Linares is the current President of the Latin America Hospital Federation since 2016. He is also the Vice President of the Argentine Chamber of Healthcare Companies and President of the Hospital and Clinics Federation of Buenos Aires (D. V), both Institutions represent hospitals, clinics and healthcare services all around Argentina.

He is also the General Director and CEO of San Carlos Hospital in Buenos Aires.

From 2009 to 2015 he has been a member of the Governing Council and since 2013 he has been elected treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee of the International Hospital Federation.

Dr Linares previously served as Vice President of the Argentinian Hospital and Clinics Confederation, where he led different working groups on education and accreditation programs directed to improve the quality of healthcare services. In 2017 he has been designated Vice President of CENAS (Specialized National Center for Regulation and Accreditation in Health).

He is a Medical Doctor graduated in the Buenos Aires National University, Professor of Surgery at the same University and Honorary Professor at the Northeast National University in Argentina.

In 1980 he was invited to serve as surgeon at the Marie Lannelongue Hospital and he was appointed as a member of the French Surgery Association. He has also served for several years as head of the Emergency Department at the José M. Penna Hospital of the City of Buenos Aires.

In 1996 Dr. Linares has attended a Master in Business Management at the Salvador University of Argentina and the Deusto University of Spain. He has published a variety of scientific and research papers and has lectured at several national, international congresses and scientific meetings. Since 2010 he leads a teaching programme aimed at improving the training of hospital staff in the Province of Buenos Aires.

He speaks Spanish as his native language in addition to speaking English and French fluently.
