Medcare: Together! Can curb the COVID-19 challenge
Medcare Hospital was among the first in the private sector to admit and treat positive COVID patients in Dubai. Medcare Hospital used an evidence-based approach to reconfigure its workflow in response to the COVID-19 surge, and it has also conducted detailed risk assessments to monitor its clinical care capacity and deploy ad hoc infection control strategies as necessary.
To promote safety among its staff, the hospital has also implemented changes in its ventilation system, building more negative pressure single rooms and converting existing air handling systems to prevent air contamination and cross-transmission. To ensure patient safety and business continuity, Medcare has also initiated telemedicine, drug delivery and home care services. Moreover, two Medcare hospitals have also been designated as COVID-free facilities, which has enhanced patient safety and reduced the anxiety among both patients and visitors.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the hospital has established an excellent rapport with local health authorities to make the war against COVID-19 more coordinated and effective. Medcare hospital has partnered with the Dubai Health Authority and has designated two hospitals as dedicated COVID facilities. Medcare has treated more than two thousand mild cases which have significantly reduced the burden on the government.
