Prof. Margarida Eiras is the Executive Board Member of the Portuguese Association for Hospital Development – APDH (since 2016).
She is currently a director of a master course and a degree course at the Lisbon School of Health Technology – ESTeSL (since 2018) and a professor at the same school (since 2000). She is also a Consultant for Patient Safety at the General Health Directorate (DGS), Department of Quality in Health (since 2014) and a trainer and national responsible for the Course “Patient Safety, from Quality to Clinical Excellence”, developed between the DGS/DQS Portugal and APDH (since 2001).
She has a Ph.D. in Public Health, area of expertise: Policy, Management and Health Administration, Nova University Lisbon, National School of Public Health (ENSP-NOVA), Portugal, 2013; Master in Managing Quality in Health Care, University of Murcia, Spain, 2011; Master in Management Health Services, INDEG – ISCTE (University Institute of Lisbon), Portugal, 2004 and Degree in Radiotherapy, Lisbon School of Health Technology (ESTeSL), Portugal, 2000.
She has participated in national and international projects, manly on Patient Safety and Health Quality base. In 2006 she was honoured by the ESTeSL for her role in promoting the health sector as a student, professional and professor.
